In the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, office supplies meant folders, hole punchers, staplers, dividers, pens, ribbons, and writing paper. However, in the 1980s and 90s, increasingly technical devices came to define everyday office life. These devices expanded the range of office supplies and products available. For example, data storage media, toner for copiers, and rolls for fax machines became commonplace. Ink and printheads for inkjet printers, toner cartridges, drum kits, and fuser units for laser printers were also introduced. Furthermore, a wide range of printer and copier papers in weights of 75g, 80g, 90g, 100g, 120g, 160g, 200g, and 240g in white, pastel, and vibrant colors was added.
Further changes followed.
Engineering firms and advertising agencies increasingly equipped their offices with color printers and plotters alongside standard printers. For these printers, the office supplies range was expanded to include plotter rolls and plotter inks.
However, in the late 1980s, when large customers increasingly abandoned their own office supply warehouses and demanded cost center delivery, Bürohaus Michel was one of the few suppliers nationwide that could offer many years of experience and established concepts for office supplies in Frankfurt.
The next stages of development in office supply came with the advancement of the internet. E-procurement solutions, online presence, and online ordering are now essential components of our business.
